Plate I · The House

A house held for one family at a time.

We don't rent out a hall. We hold the entire house for one ceremony — because the day deserves the full address, not a corner of it.

Munnas opened its gates in 2020 on the quiet stretch between Koyilandy town and the Suzuki showroom — a hall built by the Munnas family for the families of the Malabar coast. Five years on, it has become Kozhikode's quietly preferred address for nikahs, weddings, receptions and conventions. Not because we shout the loudest. Because the room feels grand even before the lights come on.

One ceremony a day. One bride in the suite. One kitchen working only on your menu. One welcome desk knowing only your guest list. That decision shapes everything we do.

Plate II · Anatomy of a Day

A wedding at Munnas, hour by hour.

Every ceremony has its own rhythm, but the day at Munnas follows a shape we know by heart. Below — a typical Malabar wedding, sunrise to farewell, with the house holding the tempo.

06.00
01

The Bridal Suite opens.

Tea is poured. Curtains drawn for makeup light. The 380 sq ft suite is climate-set to 22°C and held in absolute quiet — the rest of the building is still empty.

08.30
02

The kitchen lights come on.

The 14-cook brigade arrives. Banana leaves are washed and stacked. The biryani pots begin their slow boil. The sadya prep is laid out on the long counter.

10.00
03

The mandap is dressed.

Your decorator takes the stage. Marigolds threaded, brass lit, the photographer's lighting rig hung from the 28-foot ceiling. Drone calibration on the floor.

11.30
04

Guests begin to arrive.

Marshals direct 200 cars and 100 two-wheelers into both gates without a single horn. The welcome desk is staffed; tea is offered at the entrance hall.

12.30
05

The ceremony begins.

The bride's entry is held to the minute. The sound system carries the priest's words to the last row. Generators silent in the back, holding power against the grid.

14.00
06

The sadya is served.

Banana leaves laid in 400-seat rotations. Hot sambar, parippu, avial, thoran, payasam — all from our own kitchen, plated by hand, refilled without a request.

18.30
07

The reception lights come up.

The hall transforms — uplights warm the walls, the DJ rig tunes, a 40-foot photo backdrop is rolled out for the cinematographer. The couple makes their entrance.

23.00
08

The last guest leaves.

The marshals walk the last car out. The kitchen plates the family's late dinner — quietly, in the bridal suite. The day belongs to one family, until the very end.

Plate VI · Letters from the families

Why Malabar keeps coming back.

★★★★★

"Best in budget for this size of hall in Koyilandy. The staff actually run the wedding — not the family. We hosted 800 guests and not one complaint about parking or food."

Anees RahmanNikah · March 2026
★★★★★

"Very professional. We came two months before the date with a full plan — they accepted every change, brought in our decorator, and the kitchen handled both veg sadya and non-veg buffet without one bottleneck."

Priya MenonWedding reception · December 2025
★★★★★

"Drone shots from the 28-foot ceiling came out cinematic. The bridal suite was held quiet from 6 AM — my sister was actually rested when she entered. That is rare."
